Gentle Yoga is right for you if you are: recovering from an injury; have a chronic special condition; out of shape; interested in learning tools to relax and settle your mind; or want to keep active, strong and flexible as you age but no longer want an athletic practice.
Introduction to Gentle Yoga is a 3-class series to prepare you for regular, drop-in Gentle Yoga classes in the company of other beginners. We will introduce the format of a typical Gentle class and learn about the props that are used during class. We will then explore a few poses and their variations (free standing, with props, with a chair) in order for you to learn how to get the most benefit for YOUR body. The class will end with a lovely, supported relaxation.
We will be moving in this class, so come dressed for yoga. While there will be more theory, assessment and dialogue than a regular class, you will still get a well rounded yoga experience. If you need a loaner mat, please let us know after you register by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. All other props will be provided.
