Jennifer Fink, RYT-200 through Citizen Yoga.

I came to yoga and began a personal practice in college when I found tuning into my body and breath a good counterbalance to the demands and stress of graduate school. I fell in love with the aspect of turning down the outside noise and tuning into my body and the creative movement that developed with each class I took. My mat quickly became my personal discovery space. Fast forward a few years and my practice became more than attending a weekly class. Yoga began to weave into life on and off the mat and I could see and feel the skills I learned in practice – much more than just asana – showing up everywhere. Completing teacher training began as a small flicker of an idea and developed into a path I knew I wanted to embark upon. I’m so glad that I did! Not only did it greatly deepen my own practice, but it solidified my desire to share this practice with others so they can experience the profound benefits it brings to life. I completed my 200-hour teacher training followed by an apprenticeship at Citizen Yoga in Cleveland.

In my classes students will find a strong emphasis on healthy alignment, intentional movement and connection with breath. My aim is to guide students through a well-rounded experience that effectively opens the body, promotes a safe space for discovery and personal growth and then seals in the benefits of the practice.

Off the mat, I work as an occupational therapist. I also find great joy in being highly involved our family farm, which is a deeply embedded in my heritage. My other love of movement comes in the form of distance running. Like yoga, running has also been life-changing for me, promoting a space for solitude, connection with nature and deep reflection. And I have to admit, I love the challenge and little victories that come with racing. I am a lover of the outdoors, adventure and the rhythm of nature. I live with my fantastic and ever-supportive husband and two adorable miniature Dachshunds who love to accompany me on my yoga mat while practicing at home!
